The incident took place at around 02.30 on July 2 at Vedat Dalokay Market Complex in Yeşiloba District of Seyhan district. Muhittin A. (40) came to the market complex with his friends, whose identities could not be determined, with the light commercial vehicle with license plate 01 ASE 658. Muhittin A. and his friends stole 600 kilograms of watermelons and melons from two different trucks belonging to Abdullah B. The moments when the suspects took watermelons and melons from the trucks and loaded them into the light commercial vehicle were recorded on security cameras second by second. Abdullah B., who noticed that watermelons and melons were missing from the vehicles when he arrived at work in the morning, reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau teams affiliated with the Public Order Branch Directorate were dispatched to the region. The police examined the security cameras and determined that the person driving the light commercial vehicle was Muhittin A. While Muhittin A. was caught during the operation, the identities of the other 2 suspects have not yet been determined. During his interrogation at the police station, Muhittin A. was alleged to have said, "Melons and watermelons are products that sell quickly, so we stole them to sell them."
