After the US army announced that it had launched a new wave of attacks against Iran, Iranian media reported that explosions occurred in different points in the south of the country.
According to Iran's official news agency IRNA, the USA launched an attack on the provinces of Khuzestan and Hormozgan, located in the Persian Gulf in the south of the country.
While it was stated that explosion sounds were heard in the cities of Sirik and Behbehan in Hormuzgan province, it was reported that the attacks on the city of Bandar Abbas continued.
The US military had announced that it was carrying out additional air strikes against Iran and that the naval blockade of Iran would come into effect at 23:00 CET (16:00 US eastern time).
