Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka announced that they are negotiating with Israel to purchase air defense systems.
Czech Foreign Minister Macinka spoke at a press conference with Foreign Minister Gideon Saar during his official visit to Israel.
Stating that they are interested in a number of air defense systems, especially the Israeli-made Spyder and Arrow, Macinka said, in response to a question on the subject, "Regarding Spyder, yes, we are discussing air defense systems with Israel because these systems are technologically at the highest level." he said.
Stating that the Prague administration will continue its cooperation with Tel Aviv with determination, Macinka said, "We will continue our support to Israel at the political level and in the European arena. This approach is of great importance to us." he said.
On the other hand, Saar and Macinka attended the Israel-Czechia Business Forum, which was held with the participation of more than 200 businessmen. The duo also signed a joint declaration stipulating the establishment of a permanent business form that will meet regularly every year.
In his statement on May 20, Czech Foreign Minister Macinka emphasized that they would not allow the European Union (EU) to impose trade sanctions on Israel.
