BEIJING, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian stated that they resolutely support Cuba to protect its national sovereignty and oppose foreign interventions, and that they are ready to act together with the international community to defend international justice and equity.
Lin said at Wednesday's press conference that the United States has imposed a comprehensive blockade and illegal sanctions on Cuba for more than 60 years, which has harmed the Cuban people. Lin added that the USA has recently increased its blockade and sanctions against Cuba, seriously undermining the basic livelihoods of the people and drawing great reaction from the international community.
Lin called on the US side to listen to the justified reactions of the international community, immediately end the blockade and pressure on Cuba, and stop violating the Cuban people's right to life and development.
