Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat announced that the Türkiye-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement, for which the approval process in Türkiye was completed in 2024, was also approved by the Ukrainian Parliament today.
Minister Bolat, in his post on his social media account, said, "Another historical threshold has been crossed in the Turkey-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement. The Turkey-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement, whose approval process was completed in 2024 in our country, was also approved by the Ukrainian Parliament today. With this important situation, an important stage has been left behind towards the entry into force of the Agreement, and the doors of a new era have been opened in the economic and commercial cooperation between Turkey and Ukraine. 6.2 billion dollars and 6.2 billion dollars in 2024. Our total trade volume, which was 6.6 billion dollars in 2025, increased by 10 percent in the first 6 months of the year, reaching approximately 3.2 billion USD. With the agreement, approximately 90 percent of the trade between the two countries will be mutually liberalized; the competitiveness of our exporters in the Ukrainian market will be strengthened. In addition, our logistics activities will be strengthened with the facilities provided in service trade, and our contracting services and mutual investments will be supported under a more transparent and secure legal framework. "We will be one step closer to reaching the 10 billion US dollar target jointly determined by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Ukrainian President Mr. Volodymyr Zelenski.
