The circle is widening in the ongoing judicial process concerning Ahbap Association. Most recently, another notable figure was taken into custody in the wave of detentions that included BaBaLa TV founder Oğuzhan Uğur. It has emerged that Emre Kartaloğlu, the former President of the Union of Chambers of Certified Public Accountants and Sworn-in Certified Public Accountants of Turkey (TÜRMOB), is also among the suspects detained as part of the investigation.

At the heart of the accusations leveled against Emre Kartaloğlu in the investigation file are the activities he carried out following the February 6 earthquakes, referred to as the disaster of the century.

According to information obtained, Kartaloğlu conducted examinations regarding billions of liras in aid collected during the earthquake process and the association's financial transactions, subsequently preparing an audit report for Ahbap Association stating, "No irregularities found." It is stated that Kartaloğlu is being accused and taken into custody due to this report, which is under scrutiny by the investigative authorities.

Former TÜRMOB President Emre Kartaloğlu, who has been taken into custody, is a figure involved in active politics, in addition to his background in civil society and professional organizations.

Kartaloğlu, who currently serves as a Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi (CHP) council member, also holds other critical positions in the political arena. It is known that the suspect also serves as the Chairman of the Trade and Policy Board, established within the CHP's Presidential Candidate Office to oversee government actions and develop alternative policies.
