The march organized for the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day started in front of Zincirlikuyu metrobus stop. Thousands of people marched to the July 15 Memory Museum. The program called 'The Will is Ours, the Victory is Ours' was organized in cooperation with the Governorship of Istanbul, the Presidential Directorate of Communications, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the 15 of July Association and the Athletics Federation. Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, Governor of Istanbul Davut Gül, Vice President of Communications Ferhat Pirinççi, President of the 15 July Association Hakkı Turunç, as well as many citizens attended the program. The program continued with the recitation of the Holy Quran at the 15 July Memory Museum. Afterwards, a moment of silence was observed for the martyrs and the National Anthem was sung.

'THERE WAS A NATION THAT CHALLENGED THE TANKS THAT NIGHT'

Making a statement after the march, Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak said, "Today, we are on the 10th anniversary of the July 15 National Will Victory. There is a beautiful picture. In the morning, we walked together with over 5 thousand citizens, relatives of martyrs, young athletes and young people. We are at one of the symbolic points of the night of July 15. We are at the Bosphorus Bridge, formerly known as the Bosphorus Bridge, and the July 15 Martyrs Bridge, today known as the Bridge. That night, there was a nation that defied the tanks. Our esteemed President With his call, he said, 'I do not recognize any power above the power of the people' and our nation took to the streets. Those who killed the people here challenged the tanks with their hands and said to the whole world: 'We and only we decide who will govern us.' This is the national will. That night, everyone fought in the squares and showed the power of our nation to the whole world. "The call to prayer will not stop, the flag will not come down, this nation will never kneel," he said. At that time, in many meetings abroad that we attended as members of parliament, they asked us, 'What kind of nation are you? A nation that punches tanks and kicks tanks. How do you do this? They said, "If it were us, we wouldn't even get up." This nation is the beloved Turkish nation. "This nation has given martyrs for this flag, for this call to prayer, and will continue to do so, and will exist in these lands forever," he said.

Gazi Mehmet Memiş Sidar said, "I am a July 15 veteran. I was injured on the bridge. That night, I came here from Ümraniye, from the direction of Dudullu, with my own means. When I came here, we came here to convince our soldiers, but here I was injured by a tank shot by thieves who stole our soldier's clothes. They took nearly 16 pieces of shrapnel from me in total. I helped the injured here. We stood by our martyrs. While we were helping, they shot at us. We were left in the chaos. Now, too." "We are on the 10th anniversary of July 15. We are telling people about what was done to us, the gravity of treason, and we do not want it to be forgotten. We also say that we will not let it be forgotten."

'Our duty is to instill the spirit of JULY 15 into our children'

Cengiz Toksöz, President of the Turkish Traditional Archery Federation, said, "We are on the anniversary of the July 15 treacherous coup attempt. The will is ours, the victory is ours. Our children are raised with this understanding. Our duty is to instill the July 15 spirit in our children. Today, the children of this land, from 7 to 77, are showing their will to protect their homeland. May God perpetuate our unity and solidarity in this heavenly country." Zehra Aslan said, "It was a very nice walk. We ran instead of walking. The track was beautiful. I am proud of my country." Şeyma İdil Balta said, "We ran here to commemorate our martyrs. We are very tired, but we are happy." After the protocol speeches, the program ended with prayers at the Martyrs' Monument.
