Citizens showed great interest in the "The Will is Ours, the Victory is Ours: July 15 in its 10th Year" application type opened by the Presidential Communication Center (CİMER) on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
According to the statement made by CİMER, while the July 15 martyrs who lost their lives in the struggle for democracy were commemorated with mercy and respect in the applications for the "The Will is Ours, the Victory is Ours: July 15 in its 10th Anniversary" application type, it was emphasized that the spirit of July 15 preserved its strength on the 10th anniversary of FETO's coup attempt.
While citizens narrated their experiences on the night of July 15 in their applications, they expressed their praise and gratitude for repelling the coup attempt with the foresight of the nation under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
In the applications, suggestions for transferring the spirit of July 15 to future generations came to the fore, while citizens said, "May God not let these lands experience dark nights targeting the will of the nation again" and "May the calls to prayer never stop, and may our Al Flag always wave magnificently in the skies." statements were included.
A citizen applying from Kilis stated that July 15 was the name of a blessed resistance that will never be forgotten and made history by defending the nation's independence, democracy and national will, and said, "The greatest power that rose against the darkness that night was not tanks or weapons, but the unshakable will of our beloved nation united with the love of the homeland. Our heroes who took to the streets, disregarding their lives, showed the whole world that the will of the Republic of Turkey will not be handed over to any tutelage center." He expressed his feelings with his words.
A citizen who applied from Tekirdağ's Süleymanpaşa district emphasized that he commemorates the martyrs who lost their lives in the struggle for democracy and noted that no power against the will of the nation can be accepted.
A young person who applied from Istanbul's Avcılar district shared the poem he wrote in memory of the July 15 martyrs through CİMER. In the poem, "The Will is Ours, the Victory is Ours/ Exactly ten years have passed/ The Turkish nation chose honor that night/ The sounds of the floods tearing the darkness/ Still shake the sky and their breaths/ It did not bend to the hand of cowardice/ It became a barrier to the bloody flood of betrayal/ Standing like a mountain in front of the barrel, / It is our will that sets the course." The lines attracted attention.
In the applications, some citizens talked about their experiences on the night of July 15.
A citizen who applied from Siirt stated that he said goodbye to his fiancée a month before his wedding and went to the squares, while a citizen who applied from Ankara stated that after President Erdoğan's call, they went out with their neighbors and kept a democracy watch throughout the night.
Some citizens also made suggestions to make informative broadcasts in provincial and district squares, to include photographs of the July 15 martyrs on television screens throughout the day, and to transfer the spirit of July 15 to future generations.
