In HAKKARI's Şemdinli district, İsa Camiye adopted a lamb whose mother died when he was 2 days old. Camiye, who bottle-fed the lamb she named 'Arif', said that they now see the lamb as a member of the family and that they love it very much.
İsa Camiye, father of three children, living in Yenice hamlet of Günyazı village of Şemdinli district, adopted and started taking care of the lamb whose mother died when he was only 2 days old, 3 months ago. The lamb, which was shown maternal affection, was fed with cow's milk and then with goat's milk in the first days. The Cemiye family named the lamb, which grew healthy in a short time thanks to regular care, 'Arif'. İsa Camiye, who looked at the lamb like a child, said that a strong bond had now formed between them.
Stating that they spent most of the day together with Arif, İsa Camiye said, "Our lamb lost his mother when he was just a few days old. From that day on, I took care of him. I raised him by feeding him with a bottle. Now he follows me wherever I go. We go to the market, to the neighbors, to the vineyard, to the garden together. Everyone in the neighborhood knows him and loves him very much. He is especially good with children. He has now become the mascot of our neighborhood."
Stating that there were people who wanted to adopt the lamb, but they did not view this request positively, Camiye said, "Arif is now much more than an animal for me. He has become a part of our family. When someone in the neighborhood calls his name, he immediately comes running. He is very docile and friendly. If he does not see me when I leave the house, he gets restless. When he is not in front of my eyes, I also worry. He has now become an integral part of my life."
