A commemoration program was held in Bayburt on the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day. In the program where the martyrs were commemorated with prayers, a cortege marched with Turkish flags.
But the program started with a cortege march at the Stone Bridge location, led by the horsemen of the equestrian javelin club. Citizens with Turkish flags in their hands walked through Cumhuriyet Street and reached the Palace Garden.
After a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, the Holy Quran was recitation and prayers were read for all the martyrs. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's speech at the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day program held in Ankara Nation Garden was also followed on the screen set up in the area.
The Turkish flag carried by the athletes who completed the flag run was delivered to Bayburt Governor Mustafa Eldivan. The program continued with a hymn recital.
Gazi Selami Köksal, President of the Martyrs and Veterans Families Association, stated that they experienced the honor of the nation's epic struggle against the treacherous coup attempt on July 15, and said, "We are honored to celebrate the heroic epic of our nation against the treacherous FETO coup 10 years ago. I wish God's mercy to all our martyrs who were martyred in the coup attempt, and I wish health and well-being to our veterans."
Stating that she went out on the street with her 3-year-old child on the night of July 15, Hülya Güneş said, "They carried out this treacherous coup attempt 10 years ago. As a patriot, I took my 3-year-old child and went out on the street. I hope my Lord never lets me experience these days again." - BAYBURT
