In Osmaniye, Halil Serçe has been producing prayer beads and bracelets from the seeds of oath cones he has collected from nature for about 25 years.

66-year-old Halil Serçe, who worked in the construction industry in Osmaniye for many years, developed rosary making, which he started with his interest in art, over time. Serçe produces bracelets as well as 33 and 99 prayer beads by carefully processing the cores of the cones she collects from the oath trees in the approximately 10 square meter workshop she set up in the garden of her house in the Yogunoluk Plateau of Kadirli district. Products produced entirely by hand are offered to customers in different models and designs upon special order. The price of rosaries and bracelets varies between 500 and 1,500 lira, depending on the handcraft and model. The products attract interest from collectors and rosary enthusiasts from many provinces of Türkiye.

Stating that he learned to make rosaries with his own means, Halil Serçe said, "I saw and bought this rosary lathe machine in 1978 because I was interested in art. I learned this rosary making on my own, without receiving training from any master. We make rosaries from the seeds of the oath tree, especially in our village and in this region. The oath tree is a valuable tree. It grows in high altitudes. Molasses is made from the bark of the oath fruit.
