DÜZCE(İHA) – Bahçeşehir Science and Art Center Visual Arts Teacher Cevher Gözmen's work titled "Out of Place" was selected among the applications from all over Turkey and was included in the Günebakan National Group Exhibition opened at the Dolmabahçe Palace Palace Collections Museum.

Düzce achieved another important success in the field of art. Bahçeşehir Science and Art Center Visual Arts Teacher Cevher Gözmen's work titled "Out of Place" was found worthy of being exhibited at the Günebakan National Group Exhibition organized by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education within the scope of the 2026 Family Year.

The work, selected among many applications from different provinces of Türkiye, was accepted to the exhibition as a result of the evaluation of the selection committee consisting of deans and academicians. "Yersiz" was presented to art lovers in the exhibition opened at the Dolmabahçe Palace Palace Collections Museum.

The work deals with the story of children and families who experience the most severe consequences of wars and forced migrations. The world of emotions reflected through the eyes of a child left behind barbed wire; It powerfully conveys separation, longing, search for belonging and hope to the audience. The figure of a child who becomes lonely in crowds represents not only physical obstacles but also invisible limits to reaching love, trust and family warmth.

The child's direct eye contact with the viewer demonstrates hope and the desire to find a new home, despite all the difficulties. The barbed wires in the work represent families torn apart due to wars and forced migrations, drawing attention to the indispensable importance of family ties in human life.

Prepared within the scope of the 2026 Family Year, "Yersiz" does not see the concept of family as consisting only of individuals living in the same house; It is considered as the strongest shelter of love, trust, solidarity and human dignity. The work invites the audience to rethink the value of being a family and to approach with sensitivity the pain experienced by children separated from their families anywhere in the world.

The exhibition of the work of Düzce teacher Cevher Gözmen in Dolmabahçe Palace, one of the most important cultural venues in Türkiye, is considered an important artistic achievement for the city. - DUZCE
