"Nothing happened to me because my seatbelt was fastened"
Gülsüm Yaşar, 56, one of the passengers on the bus, told reporters that she boarded the passenger bus in Bucak district of Burdur and was traveling to Bursa.
Yaşar, who stated that she was traveling in the seat behind the driver, said:
"I was sleeping, and suddenly I woke up to noises. I saw the car shaking, going left and right, and then we overturned. Nothing happened to me because my seatbelt was fastened. I only bumped my arms and legs. I was sleeping. However, it's highly probable that the driver was asleep. He also seemed unfamiliar with the roads. There was chaos inside, everyone was screaming. Because we had gone off into a field or something. It had swerved quite a bit, swaying left and right. Then it tried to get back on the road, and at that moment, we overturned. I could see that. I was going to Bursa for the Uludağ Premium Ultra Trail Race. I was going to run 16 kilometers with my club."
