At the second ordinary Protection Board Meeting of Bursa Probation Directorate in 2026, activities aimed at reintegrating convicted and ex-convicts into society were discussed, while the projects of 3 ex-convicts who established their own businesses were shared with the board members.
The second ordinary Protection Board Meeting of Bursa Probation Directorate for 2026 was held at Hamidiye Agricultural Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, hosted by Bursa Commodity Exchange. Representatives of public institutions and organizations that are members of the Protection Board attended the meeting chaired by Bursa Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Cüneyt Demirdaş. At the opening of the meeting, the activities carried out in line with the decisions taken at the previous Protection Board meeting were evaluated, and the activities carried out in line with the main purpose of the board to reintegrate convicted and ex-convicts into society, strengthen their social harmony and support their employment were discussed.
In the presentation made by Bursa Probation Directorate Sociologist Fatih Kışan, board members were informed about the training, vocational training, social support and rehabilitation activities for the offenders in the last three months, and the activities carried out within the scope of inter-institutional cooperation. At the meeting, while the requests of the obliged parties who applied to the Protection Board in the last three months were evaluated, information on in-kind and cash aid, professional supports and social service practices provided by public institutions and organizations was shared. Activities aimed at increasing the adaptation of those in need to social life were evaluated by the board members.
Detailed information was given to the board members about the projects of 3 former convicts who opened their businesses by taking advantage of the self-employment project within the scope of the Protection Board supports. It was stated that the projects in question made significant contributions to ex-convicts' participation in production, gaining economic independence and preventing them from committing crimes again.
Following the meeting, activities planned to be implemented in the next three months of 2026 were discussed. In this context, it was stated that Digital Photography Course, Herd Management Course, Youth Camp Event, Role Model Meeting, Wood Burning Course and Philography Technique Course are planned to be organized, and it was announced that the free circumcision program for children in need will be held within the scope of social responsibility activities.
The meeting ended by emphasizing that, after receiving the opinions and suggestions of the board members, inter-institutional cooperation for the reintegration of convicted and ex-convicts into society will be strengthened and continued. It was stated that Bursa Probation Directorate resolutely continues its activities to support the adaptation of ex-convicts to social life, improve their professional competencies and increase employment opportunities through the activities of the Protection Board, which is carried out in cooperation with public institutions, local governments, non-governmental organizations and professional organizations. - BURSA
