Kozan District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry stated that the risk of forest fire has reached its highest level due to increasing air temperatures and strong winds in the region, and called on producers not to burn stubble and to take the necessary precautions during harvest.
In his written statement, Kozan District Agriculture Director Mutlu Karataş stated that stubble fires started in agricultural lands and spread to forest areas and said, "Burning stubble and causing forest fires is a crime. A moment of negligence can cause the destruction of our forests, agricultural areas and natural life."
Asking producers not to burn stubble and not to light fires in areas close to forested areas, Karataş noted that flame extinguishers should be kept in combine harvesters and agricultural machines used in harvesting, if possible, a water tanker should be kept ready and if flames are seen, a report should be made to 112 Emergency Call Center. - ADANA
