CHP Talas Municipal Council Member and Lawyer Alaattin Can Akkılıç, who was caught with 5 kilos of herbal marijuana in the trunk of his car in KAYSERİ, was sent to prison.
Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams stopped a car in Kocasinan district upon suspicion. During the search of the vehicle, 5 kilograms of herbal marijuana and a marijuana grinding apparatus hidden in the trunk were seized. Regarding drugs, Lawyer Alaattin Can Akkılıç was detained by the District Gendarmerie Command teams. Akkılıç, who is stated to be a CHP Talas Municipal Council Member, was sent to prison by the court where he was referred to after his procedures.

We have full respect for the independence of the judicial process and the presumption of innocence. The outcome of the judicial process will be determined by the relevant authorities."
AK Party Kayseri Provincial Chairman Hüseyin Okandan and Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın also made statements on the issue at Talas Municipality. Hüseyin Okandan stated that there were reports in some media outlets that the council member was from the AK Party, not CHP, and said, "We saw an incident that took place last night, where a council member was caught with 5 kilos of drugs, the necessary security procedures, legal procedures were carried out and he was sent to prison.
