It was reported that Samsun Metropolitan Municipality's restoration and conservation activities in Seyyit Kutbettin Cemetery are continuing.
According to the statement made by the Metropolitan Municipality, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, which continues its activities to protect the cultural heritage and transfer it to future generations, continues its activities to protect the historical gravestones in Seyyit Kutbettin Cemetery.
The preservation of the historical tombstones in the Seyyit Kutbettin Cemetery, which do not belong to any grave, in an appropriate area was carried out in accordance with the decision of the Samsun Cultural Heritage Preservation Regional Board.
Within the scope of the decision, the gravestones were documented one by one and preserved in the protection area created within the cemetery. The cleaning, documentation and numbering processes of the gravestones are carried out meticulously by the teams.
In line with the project approved by the Regional Preservation Board, the aim is to resurface the historical gravestones and present them to visitors.
According to the project, historical gravestones will be placed on special pedestals to be created around the existing walking paths in the cemetery, and they will be protected and exhibited for visitors to examine.
