Rescue activities for the paddy-laden ship that ran aground off the coast of Tekirdağ will continue tomorrow.

Following the expiration of the 72-hour period given to the company to which the cargo ship in question is affiliated to be rescued from its location, in accordance with the legislation, a rescue activity was initiated under the coordination of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety.

The ship's refloating activity was carried out with the "Kurtarma-10" tugboat affiliated with the General Directorate of Coastal Safety.

After approximately 4 hours of activity, the operation was terminated at the end of the day.

It was learned that rescue activities will continue tomorrow with the support of tugboats with higher pulling power that will be dispatched to the region from Istanbul.

The Sao Tome and Principe flagged cargo ship named "REGALO", 169 meters long and 27 meters wide, loaded with 27 thousand 500 tons of paddy, ran aground in front of Ceyport Port 3 days ago. Upon notice, Coast Guard teams were dispatched to the region and inspections were carried out on the ship.
