Famous actress Eda Ece made a comprehensive statement about her words in 2023, which came to the fore again on social media following the investigation against Haluk Levent and the Friends Association. Stating that she has no ties with the Dude Association, Ece apologized once again for her statements regarding the election results in the earthquake region and said, "It was not my place to interfere with voting rights."
After the investigation carried out against Haluk Levent and the Friends Association, old images re-circulated on social media, bringing actress Eda Ece to the center of the agenda again. Ece, who was the target of criticism for her speech about the election results in the earthquake zone at an award ceremony she attended in 2023, responded to the allegations regarding the Dude Association with the statements she shared one after another on her Instagram account and apologized again for her controversial remarks.
Eda Ece emphasized in her statement that she has no financial or organizational ties with the Ahbap Association. The actor stated that he never donated to the association, did not support donation campaigns, and did not share any posts encouraging the public to donate, and attributed the reason for this to a negative experience he said a close friend had years ago.
Stating that she never fully trusted the association because of this incident she heard from her close circle, Ece said that, despite this, she did not make any public statement denigrating Ahbap.
Stating that she only participated in the ATV joint donation broadcast organized by the call of the state during the earthquake period, Ece explained that they carried out their aid activities without any intermediary institution.
The actor stated that he and the team of the series he starred in personally procured the necessary supplies and took them to the earthquake zone, visited hospitals and did not prefer to announce any aid activities to the public.
Referring to the speech she made during the award she received in 2023, Eda Ece said that the earthquake process created a heavy psychological burden on her.
Stating that the joke he made at the end of his speech was a big mistake, the actor said, "I felt so heavy that I felt the need to make a joke. I wish I had not done it. Only that sentence of mine was shared. I wish a wasp had stung my tongue. I was so sad, I regretted it so much that I should not have said such a thing."
Stating that the reactions have been going on for years, Ece said that she remained silent against the insults against herself and her family.
Stating that criticism continued during her pregnancy, the actress stated that her child has reached the age of two but the lynching campaign she has experienced has not ended, and noted that she has only preferred to apologize so far.
At the end of her statement, Eda Ece apologized again to everyone she offended, especially the earthquake victims.
The actor said, "I would like to apologize to our state, especially to the citizens who were affected by the earthquake and to everyone I offended. It was not my place to interfere with voting rights. I am truly ashamed. I wish I had not made that joke. Using discriminatory language was not something I would do. It did not suit me."
Arguing that the perception about her does not reflect her real personality, Eda Ece stated that she did not wish anyone any harm throughout her life and completed her statement with the words, "Please forgive me. I will not commit such indecency again."
At the award ceremony she attended, Eda Ece said, regarding the citizens living in the earthquake zone supporting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the AK Party in the election, "They thought everything we did to the earthquake zone was done by others. We understood that from the ballot box, but whatever." he said.
