As part of the events organized by the Kütahya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports for the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, Göbel Thermal Springs in Tavşanlı district hosted orienteering competitions.
In the competition held in an atmosphere intertwined with nature, athletes competed fiercely to find the targets one by one by determining their direction with the help of a map. Athletes, who raced against time and developed strategies on challenging tracks, sweated among the unique natural beauties of Göbel. The athletes, who completed the set targets in the shortest time and without any errors, succeeded in reaching the podium in 4 different categories. At the end of the competition, medals were presented to the successful athletes. After the award ceremony, all participants took a souvenir photo to commemorate the day.
Eren Sezer, one of the athletes who placed in the competition, stated that they had exciting moments and said, "The competition was very exciting. I am participating in this organization for the third time and I recommend orienteering to everyone. The fact that I have competed in different fields before played a big role in my success in this race."
The outstanding efforts of Turkish Orienteering Federation Technical Board Member Ali Sarı and the referees in charge were appreciated in completing the competition smoothly and professionally. Athletes stated that they enjoyed both doing sports and competing on the fascinating track of Göbel Thermal Facilities. - KUTAHYA
