Abdullah Ağaya, who was injured by a bullet that hit his leg in front of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality during the coup attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) on July 15, 2016, talks about the treacherous coup attempt in every environment he finds so that it is not forgotten.
46-year-old Abdullah Ağaya, who lived in Istanbul during the coup attempt and later settled in Batman, told the AA reporter that on the night of the treacherous attempt, when he saw on television that the Bosphorus Bridge (15 July Martyrs Bridge) was closed, he took the Turkish flag and went out to the streets.
Stating that he first went to Vatan Street and then went to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Ağaya explained that he was injured in his right leg as a result of the fire opened by the coup plotters, and that he was discharged after receiving treatment for a while at the hospital.
Ağaya stated that they fought against the coup plotters with the power God gave them and that the people prevented the coup with their faith.
Stating that the treacherous attempt should not be forgotten, Ağaya said:
"It has been 10 years since the coup attempt, but even if 10 years or 100 years have passed, we will not forget that treacherous night. We have not forgotten the treacherous coup attempt of July 15 and we will not let it be forgotten. We are telling our children what happened that day. May God not let our nation experience such a day again, but if there is another coup one day, I will take to the streets again with my wife and children. I tell what happened that night wherever I sit, at work. I see this as a duty for myself. For the future of our children." "I'm telling you."
Ağaya said that he advised his children to take as an example the fight he gave against the treacherous coup plotters, and said, "I always tell my children this. If there is a coup again, be a hero like your father. I wanted to be a martyr that night, but God Almighty granted me the status of a veteran." he said.
