The 13th Monaco Energy Boat Race, which lasted four days in Monaco, has ended. 54 teams from 21 countries competed in the event organized by Yacht Club de Monaco. The race marked the launch of the Monaco Energy Boat Racing World Series. The first qualifying event will be held in Lake Como, Italy, in April 2027, and the second will be held in Darwin, Australia.
Bernard d'Alessandri, Secretary General of Yacht Club de Monaco, stated that the event grows every year and young people bring innovative ideas. Italian universities took the first three places in the Energy Class. Adria Autonomous Boat Team from Croatia won the Artificial Intelligence Class, and Red Wave from Italy won the SeaLab Class.
Innovations included the use of e-methanol and a carbon fiber prototype from China's Hainan University. The event aims to accelerate the energy transformation of the maritime industry.
