National defender Cenk Özkaçar, transferred by TRABZONSPOR from Spain's Valencia club, came to Trabzon. Answering the questions of members of the press at the airport, Özkaçar stated that he wanted to fight for the club's goals in the claret-blue jersey and said, "I hope I can carry the performance I will show here to the national team again."

Stating that the transfer process was concluded in a short time, Cenk Özkaçar said, "While I was in Valencia, negotiations were held within 2-3 days and the transfer was completed. It was a very fast-developing process."

Stating that he wants to be successful in Trabzonspor, the national football player said, "My primary goal is to fight in line with the club's goals. I hope I can show a better performance than last season. Then, I want to carry the performance I will show here to the national team again."

Stating that he has not met with coach Fatih Tekke yet, Özkaçar said that he believes that the competition within the team will improve him. Stating that there are important players in the team, Özkaçar said, "I knowOnuachu from the Belgian League. Ernest Muçi and Oulai are also quality names. In fact, the whole team performed very well last season. I hope we can improve this season and produce a performance that suits the city."

Stating that he had come to Trabzon before with his wife, Özkaçar stated that they were amazed by the city and said, "We came to Trabzon with my wife about 7-8 months ago. The taste of the few days we spent here remained in our palate. My transfer had not been made at the last minute a few times before. Finally it happened. I am really happy. I love the city very much. My wife is in love with Trabzon too. I hope we can spend many years here and serve the club."

Stating that he wants to reflect the experiences he gained in Europe to Trabzonspor, the national football player stated that the current squad, as well as the new transfers, consists of very high-quality names, and that he aims to adapt to the team in a short time and reflect the game that the technical staff wants on the field.

Stating that the jersey number has not been determined yet, Özkaçar said, "I think it will be determined tomorrow. I have number 39 in my heart. It is the license plate code of my wife's hometown. If it is available, I would like to wear number 39."

Cenk Özkaçar's wife, Hira Özkaçar, also stated that they were very happy to be in Trabzon and said, "When the transfer came up, I did not show my feelings very much in order not to affect Cenk, but I wanted it wholeheartedly. When we came to Trabzon before, we did not want to leave. We are very happy and very excited."

While Özkaçar met with the burgundy-blue fans who came to welcome him after his statements, the fans welcomed the new transfer with cheers.
