Citizens kept a democracy watch at the Presidential Complex on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
As part of the event, various refreshments were served to citizens in the tents set up in the Presidential Complex with the participation of approximately 100 non-governmental organizations.
AK Party Ankara Provincial Chairman Hakan Han Özcan stated in the program that they are here today, just like 10 years ago.
Emphasizing unity and solidarity, Özcan said:
"The People's Alliance was founded on these streets in Ankara, with the blood shed by our brothers and martyrs. May God perpetuate our unity and solidarity, and at the same time, never let us experience such a night again." he said.
Stating that there are people waiting for help from Türkiye in many parts of the world, Özcan said:
"We have brothers and sisters waiting for help from us. From East Turkestan, Gaza, the entire Muslim geography, the geography of the heart. In this glorious time of the world, when our esteemed President says 'the world is bigger than 5', this is not an easy word, they do not let everyone say this, not everyone can say it. It is an Abrahamic stance. On July 15, Husseini showed his stance. Here is what our Prophet said: 'Give up this cause, hold the bear in one hand and hold it in the other.' "If you give me the sun, I will not give up on this cause," he said. Our esteemed President, as the ummah of that prophet and as a leader of that ummah, showed the same stance.
May God perpetuate our unity and solidarity and may we never experience such a night again, but if something like this happens again, of course, I always say here, there are 1 million Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara alone. There are at least 12 million Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in all of Türkiye. That's why we, the People's Alliance and this homeland front, will never allow such sectarianists and those controlled from outside. This nation has already shown in history that it will never allow such a thing, and it has shown now. "No one should have any doubt that he will show this again if something like this is attempted again."
"May God not harm our state and our nation"
July 15 veteran Sedat US said that he came to the square that night upon President Erdoğan's call.
Us said, "We went out on the instructions of the chief. Since our house was a little far away, we did not know anything about the events. We only went to the Red Crescent when the chief said 'to the squares and airports'. I was injured in my foot when I was handing over the traitors wearing military uniforms at the Red Crescent." he said.
Us said that after he was injured, he went to the hospital and when he saw the injured people there, he said to the doctors, "Leave me last, help them." Explaining what he said, he said, "May God not harm our state and our nation. May we never lose our leader. Let me be hungry, penniless, eat dry bread, but let my state survive. Let our flag fly in the sky." he said.
