In the Mevlid-i Şerif program held in Ağrı on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, the martyrs of July 15 and all the martyrs who lost their lives for the sake of the country were commemorated with prayers.

A Mevlid-i Şerif program was organized by Ağrı Governorship at the Central Mosque within the scope of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.

In the program where the heroes who marched to martyrdom for the sake of the country were commemorated with the understanding of "Let the adhan not stop, the flag should not come down", prayers were made for the dear martyrs after the recitation of the Holy Quran.

Governor Önder Bozkurt, provincial protocol, families of martyrs, veterans and citizens attended the program.

"July 15 is one of the turning points in our history"

Making a statement to journalists after the program, Governor Önder Bozkurt said that the treacherous coup attempt against the independence, democracy and national will of the nation on the night of July 15, 2016 was eliminated by the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the determined stance of the nation.

Stating that the millions who filled the squares that night wrote a great epic that went down in history by protecting their homeland, flag and state at the expense of their lives, Governor Bozkurt said, "July 15 is not only the day when a coup attempt was foiled, but also a historical turning point where state-nation integrity, national will and commitment to democracy were declared to the whole world." he said.

"The spirit of unity and solidarity continues to grow stronger"

Stating that the spirit of unity and solidarity demonstrated on the night of July 15 has become even stronger in the past 10 years, Governor Bozkurt noted that the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, which is celebrated this year with the theme "Our Will, Our Victory", is the strongest indicator of the nation's will to live freely and its commitment to its state.

Stating that Türkiye is progressing in every field in line with the Turkey Century goals under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Governor Bozkurt stated that peace, security and development have become even stronger with the vision of a Terror-Free Türkiye.

"Enduro and ATV Championship is one of the best examples of this"

Emphasizing that sports, tourism, investment and social life continue in the regions free from the effects of terrorism, Governor Bozkurt said, "One of the best examples of this was the Turkey Enduro and ATV Championship, which was successfully held in our city under the auspices of our Governorship. The organization, held on the challenging tracks of Mount Ararat and Tendürek Mountain, once again demonstrated the security, natural beauties and potential of our city to host international sports organizations." he said.

"We must transfer the spirit of July 15 to future generations"

Governor Bozkurt stated that the most important responsibility is to keep the spirit of July 15 alive, to protect the national will and to convey this struggle correctly to future generations, and that the basis of a strong Türkiye is unity, solidarity and state-nation solidarity.
