Meeting with the stakeholders in the legislative processes of the European Parliament, Minister Bolat met with EPP Shadow Rapporteur Dirk Gotink on the Industrial Acceleration Act (IAA) Draft and Iuliu Winkler, Vice President of the International Trade Committee (INTA). In his statement regarding his contacts, Minister Bolat said, "During our meetings, we evaluated the effects of the Industrial Acceleration Law and the 'Made in EU' approach on our integrated value chains within the scope of the industrial policies developed by the EU on the axis of new global competitiveness. While determining the European Parliament's attitude towards these regulations, we also shared with them our expectation that it would take an approach that reflects the strategic importance of our commercial integration."
Minister Bolat also said, "We also shared with them our expectation that, in the future, the European Parliament will put forward a progress report perspective that takes into account our 30-year Customs Union partnership, bilateral agreements and our deep-rooted partnership law, respects these acquired rights and is rational. We will continue to continue our contacts with determination to strengthen the economic and commercial partnership between Turkey and the European Union on the basis of mutual benefit." - BRUSSELS
