The Ministry of Commerce has determined that the "plush goose" toy, which has become very popular and has been introduced to the market recently, poses a serious suffocation risk for babies and children. Following the safety analysis, the product in question was completely banned from being placed on the market and it was decided to withdraw it from the market.
In the written statement made by the Ministry of Commerce, the results of the detailed examination and laboratory analyzes carried out within the scope of market surveillance and control activities were shared. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the "plush goose" toy did not meet safety standards. The Ministry made the following statements in its statement: "As a result of our examination and laboratory analysis, it was determined that a toy marketed as a 'plush goose' did not meet the mechanical safety criteria stipulated in the TS EN 71-1 standard and that it was broken into small pieces and posed a risk of suffocation. Due to this non-conformity, which may pose a serious danger especially for babies and young children, it was decided to ban the product from the market and withdraw it from the market."
Following the recall decision, the dangerous product was made available to the public via the Unsafe Product Information System (GÜBİS). Underlining that it works with zero tolerance on child health and safety, the Ministry of Commerce emphasized that it will continue its inspections in line with scientific analyzes and laboratory examinations in order for citizens to have access to safe products.
