Martyrs were commemorated in the programs organized on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day in Darende district of Malatya.
The commemoration program organized by Darende District Governorship and Darende Municipality started with the Mawlid taught at the Sheikh Hamid-i Veli (Somuncu Baba) Social Complex.
In the program attended by the district protocol and citizens, the Holy Quran was read and prayers were made for all the martyrs, especially those who were martyred in the coup attempt on July 15, 2016.
After the Mevlid, District Governor Ömer Sirkeci, Mayor Alican Bozkurt and accompanying protocol members visited the families of the martyrs and veterans.
Within the scope of the program, the martyrs' cemetery, where the tomb of His Holiness Seyyid Hasan Gazi, who conquered the Historical Zengibar Castle, was also visited. District Mufti Sinan Şen prayed for the 15 July martyr Darendeli Murat İnci, whose name is on the martyrdom monument, and all the martyrs.
On the other hand, on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, official institutions, spiritual places, martyrs' cemeteries, avenues and streets, houses and workplaces throughout the district were decorated with Turkish flags.
