During the checks carried out by the teams, it was determined that in some markets, the old labels on the expired products were removed and replaced with new dated labels. While legal action was taken against businesses due to this practice aimed at misleading consumers, products with changed dates were removed from sale.
Products that were 5 years past their expiration date were detected
During the inspections, shampoos that were 3 to 5 years past their expiration date were also seized. While many cosmetic products that threaten public health were confiscated by the police teams, it was stated that expired shampoos could cause health problems such as skin irritation, allergic reactions, risk of infection and hair loss.
Spoiled and moldy food detected
During the inspections of the teams, spoiled and moldy foods that could be fatal to human health were also found. The police officers could not believe their eyes when they saw the mold on the packaging of the döner-style meat products.
