In Denizli, an apartment resident who defied the flames with a hose in hand during a midnight roof fire that brought the street to its feet, caused hearts to skip a beat. The citizen, who later descended on his own, said, "I intervened in the fire with the hose as much as I could."

The fire occurred around 01:30 at night in Sırakapılar Mahallesi, Merkezefendi district. According to information obtained, disused items in the attic of a 4-story apartment building caught fire for an as-yet-undetermined reason. Residents in the vicinity who noticed the flames and smoke rising from the roof immediately reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, numerous fire, police, and health teams were dispatched to the area. Meanwhile, an apartment resident, learning that flames had erupted in the building, disregarded his own life and went up to the attic, attempting to extinguish the flames with a hose he had taken. Citizens and teams who saw the activity on the roof initially thought the individual was trapped amidst the dense smoke and flames. Just as fire crews were quickly preparing to intervene and rescue the citizen, the citizen managed to descend on his own.

Nasuh G., stating that there was a hose in the attic, said, "When I learned there was a fire, I tried to intervene on my own."

While neighborhood residents, experiencing great panic due to the midnight flames, poured into the streets, the fire was brought under control and extinguished in a short time thanks to the timely and rapid intervention of fire crews, preventing it from spreading to other buildings or the floors of the building itself.
