Dervişoğlu: I respectfully salute everyone who defended their state on July 15 - Last Minute

IYI Party Chairman Musavat Dervişoğlu said that he respectfully greets all citizens who defended their state and the will of the nation on the night of July 15, regardless of their political views and party preferences.

Dervişoğlu, at the press conference he held at his party's headquarters on the 10th anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt of July 15, noted that the weapons of the state were turned against the nation that night.

Stating that the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye was bombed and traitors wearing Turkish military uniforms fired bullets at soldiers, police and civilians, Dervişoğlu reminded that 253 martyrs were martyred and thousands of people were injured on the night of July 15.

Dervişoğlu stated that he commemorated the martyrs with mercy and expressed his gratitude to the veterans and said, "I respectfully salute all our citizens who defended their state and the will of the nation that night, regardless of their political views and party preferences." he said.

Claiming that the Presidential Government System weakens the control mechanisms, Dervişoğlu said, "The Presidential Government System is not only a single actor, but also has a single approval structure. In such a system, authority is personal and responsibility is ownerless." defended his opinion.

Dervişoğlu, who also criticized the economy, law and foreign policy, claimed that the current management approach deepened Türkiye's fundamental problems.

Calling for a return to the parliamentary system, Dervişoğlu said:

"The parliamentary system is not only about re-establishing the office of the prime minister. It means that the parliament becomes the center of the will of the nation again, the government is accountable to the representatives of the nation, the decision is taken through consultation and responsibility is assumed. It means liberating the judiciary from the instructions of the government and the bureaucracy from party loyalty. It means that the executive is supervised by the parliament and limited by an independent judiciary. Because the mind of the state is not the mind of a single person. The state reasons with consultation, acts with the law and becomes stronger by being accountable to its nation."
