Commemoration programs for the martyrs were organized in Erzurum, Ardahan, Kars, Erzincan, Ağrı and Iğdır on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
In Erzurum, the martyrs' cemeteries in Asri Cemetery and Karskapı Martyrdom were visited under the coordination of the Governorship.
Provincial Mufti Yaşar Çapçı prayed at the martyrs' cemeteries, and the participants left carnations on the graves.
Governor Aydın Baruş, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen, Erzurum Regional Court of Justice Chief Public Prosecutor Ünal Bingül, Provincial Police Chief Onur Karaburun, Atatürk University Rector Prof. attended the programme. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Erzurum Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, AK Party Erzurum Provincial Chairman İbrahim Küçükoğlu, Turkish Veterans and Martyrs' Families Foundation Erzurum Branch President Rıza Demir, district governors, representatives of public institutions, relatives of martyrs and veterans attended.
Within the framework of the program, protocol members and officials from the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services also visited the families of veterans and martyrs.
Within the scope of the activities, before the noon prayer, the Mawlid was read for the martyrs and the Hatim prayer was performed.
A program was held at the Ardahan Martyrdom in Halil Efendi District of Ardahan.
Participants prayed here and left carnations on the graves of the martyrs.

A commemoration program was organized in Kurukol village of Erzincan's Tercan district for Recep Gündüz, who was martyred on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge in Istanbul during the coup attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) on 15 July 2016.
After the recitation of the Holy Quran, prayers were made at the grave of Martyr Gündüz, and carnations were left on his grave.
