Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said, "July 15 is not only the day when a coup attempt was eliminated, but also a historical turning point in which our nation unshakably demonstrated its will to protect its independence and future." he said.
In his message published on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, Ersoy stated that the history of Turkish democracy faced a treacherous and dark attack on the night of July 15, 2016.
Stating that this dark night has reached a bright morning with the foresight of the nation, Ersoy emphasized that the nation wrote one of the greatest heroic epics of history by protecting its independence, democracy and national will, regardless of women, men, old and young.
Minister Ersoy stated the following in his message:

The treacherous coup attempt of July 15 will always remain alive in our memories. The sovereignty in this paradise of homeland will always belong to the nation.
"On this occasion, I remember with mercy, gratitude and respect all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our country on July 15, Democracy and National Unity Day, and I express my gratitude to our heroic veterans."
