According to the first six-month data for 2026 from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 51 million 636 thousand 618 lira has been spent to date on projects for the preservation and restoration of cultural assets in Erzurum.
Data concerning Erzurum was also included in the list of "Projects to Which Cultural Heritage Contribution Shares Were Transferred by the End of the First Six Months of 2026" published by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. According to the report, a total of 76 million 927 thousand 726 lira in revenue was generated within the scope of cultural heritage contribution shares in the city from 2005 until the end of the first six months of 2026.
A total of 51 million 636 thousand 618 lira has been allocated to date for restoration and project activities carried out across the city to preserve historical structures and pass them on to future generations. The report stated that restoration and project activities for numerous historical structures, such as Oltu Kilisesi, Harput Kapı, Osman Efendi Camii, Engüzekkapı Kalesi, Atatürk Evi, Fethi Camii, Şükrü Döküş Kilisesi, and Tortum Bağbaşı Haho Kilisesi, were included.
On the other hand, in the first six months of 2026, 10 million 496 thousand 826 lira in revenue was collected in Erzurum within the scope of cultural heritage contribution shares, while 19 million 460 thousand 167 lira in appropriation was reported to be in the account as of the end of the period. - ERZURUM
