Fatih Erbakan, Chairman of the Re-Welfare Party, held a press conference at the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Regarding the 10th anniversary of the July 15 coup attempt, Erbakan said, "On July 15, an epic public resistance took place that turned the dark night into light. Our nation shielded the tanks with its body, defended its homeland at the expense of its life and made history. This resistance took its place in history as the manifestation of the faith and spirit of independence in the essence of our nation. However, it must be stated frankly that July 15 was not an impossible process to prevent. These weaknesses and mistakes paved the way for the treacherous network FETO/PDY to infiltrate the capillaries of the state. "If you had taken the warning that 'This structure trains soldiers for Zionism', the road leading to the treacherous coup attempt of July 15 would not have been paved. Erbakan said that the state staff should be reunited with competence and merit and that the principle of absolute justice should not be deviated from in the trials related to FETO.
Answering the questions of journalists, Erbakan said regarding the images taken at the funeral ceremony of Iran's former religious leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran: "Of course, the Holy Quran was being recited there with a very beautiful recitation, and at the same time, a girl, the 15-month-old grandchild of the late Ali Khamenei, was destroyed by missiles. There was a coffin of her, a tiny, 15-month-old child, and on top of it was a photo of her laughing and playing." "It was impossible not to get emotional under these circumstances. We were moved to tears. It is not appropriate to take this to different places. Even if it was a 15-month-old child, an American's child, or a Christian's child, you would still have tears in your eyes when you saw him being dismembered and put in a coffin.
