Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Commission, said, "As the anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation approaches, I would like to state once again that the decision adopted by the European Parliament, which contains unfounded and irrational allegations against the heroic Turkish Armed Forces (TAF), is null and void for us. The Turkish Grand National Assembly Foreign Affairs Commission convened under the chairmanship of AK Party Ankara Deputy Fuat Oktay to discuss international agreement proposals. Speaking at the opening of the Commission meeting, Oktay stated that the unity and solidarity of the Alliance was strongly confirmed at the NATO Summit hosted by Türkiye and that Türkiye's defense industry capacity came to the fore in the margins of the summit. Oktay noted that the conflicts have resumed despite the agreement on a ceasefire between the USA and Iran and said, "Conflicts, on the one hand, threaten the peace and stability of the entire Middle East region, while on the other hand, they pose significant risks for global markets by affecting supply chains, especially oil. The tension-oriented attitudes of Israel and the pro-war groups in the USA and Iran should not be allowed to direct the policies in the region and violence-oriented policies. We call on the parties to act with moderation and hope that peace will be re-established in the region." "On the other hand, the Russia-Ukraine war unfortunately continues with all its violence in the north of our country. As Turkey, we continue to support all diplomatic efforts to achieve peace. We see that Israel's discriminatory, aggressive and occupying policies continue in our region. We also witness Israel's new attacks on Syria while its occupation in Lebanon continues. The inhumane tragedy caused by Israel in Gaza and its attacks and occupation actions in Jerusalem and the West Bank still continue."

'JULY 15 IS THE DAY WHEN THE TURKISH NATION SHOWS TO THE WORLD ITS DETERMINATION TO PROTECT THE NATIONAL WILL'

Emphasizing that the European Parliament made wrong decisions under the influence of circles operating against Turkey, Oktay said, "In these days when the anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation is approaching, I would like to state once again that the decision adopted in the European Parliament, which contains groundless and irrational allegations against the heroic Turkish Armed Forces, is null and void for us. If they want to understand who the people making the allegations are, it is enough to look in the mirror. Yesterday, we commemorated the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day. 15 July Turkish "It is a historic day when the nation showed its determination to defend democracy, independence and national will to the whole world. With a great resistance symbolizing the unity and solidarity of our nation, the treacherous FETO coup attempt was repelled and the attempt to invade Türkiye was prevented. This resistance drowned the treacherous FETO attempt in the bosom of our nation. As the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and our Commission, we continue our activities within this understanding of unity and solidarity, and we will continue to do so."

Oktay also said that there are currently 24 more proposals in the commission and 73 proposals have been accepted since the beginning of the 28th Legislative Term, and the number of proposals on the General Assembly agenda is 117.

'OUR COUNTRY SUPPORTS THE PRINCIPLE OF MULTILATERALISM REPRESENTED BY THE UN'

Then, negotiations began with Türkiye on the proposal, which included different agreements, including the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Musa Kulaklıkaya said, "Our country strongly supports and defends the values represented by the United Nations and the principle of multilateralism, which are at the heart of the global system of rules. The fact that almost every United Nations institution operates in our country and that our country is increasingly preferred as a center is a clear reflection of our ongoing multi-dimensional and strong cooperation with the United Nations. The most concrete and current example of this cooperation is our hosting of the 31st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Climate Change Environmental Convention, in short COP31. "COP, that is, the Conference of the Parties, is the highest decision-making body of the United Nations Environmental Convention on Climate Change. Here, the parties and the participating countries address important and multi-dimensional topics in the fight against climate change such as mitigation, adaptation, climate finance, technology transfer and loss and damage," he said.

Kulaklıkaya also said that no financial commitment has been made to undertake the COP-31 summit, but the expenses related to the conference will be covered by Türkiye.

INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENT IN THE FIELD OF HEALTH WAS ACCEPTED BETWEEN TURKEY AND SYRIA

After the first offer was accepted, a second international agreement proposal was made between Türkiye and Syria regarding the operation of Damascus Heart Hospital and Aleppo Oncology Hospital. Upon the proposal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Musa Kulaklıya said, "We have determined that the way for life to return to normal in Syria is through the provision of basic public services. Among other sectors, health is an important area that comes to the fore in our support to Syria. The essence of this support is for Syria to make its own health system sustainable, to achieve proficiency in terms of infrastructure, personnel and equipment, and for Syrian young people educated in our country to contribute to the restructuring process in their country. In Syria, providing health services uninterruptedly and smoothly within a national program is important in many respects. "First of all, it is important to maintain the trust established by the Syrian government among its people, and also to ensure that people returning from our country to Syria hold on to their destination and to make their return sustainable. Lastly, it is critical to have a well-functioning health sector in Syria to ensure that the treatment demands that may be directed to our country are met in Syria and to prevent the spread of infectious diseases," he said.

Then, political party representatives spoke on the agreement and voting began. As a result of the vote, the proposal was accepted.
