In the Konak district of Izmir, one person died after being injured with a cutting tool during a fight in a vehicle between two people with whom there was a previous enmity. The suspect, who escaped after the incident, was caught in a short time with the criminal equipment, thanks to the successful work of the police teams.
The incident took place around 01:00 today in Konak district. According to the information obtained, it was learned that there was hostility between M.E. An argument broke out between him and Özcan Gizay (28). In the argument that escalated inside the vehicle, M.E. injured Özcan Gizay with the cutting tool next to him. Upon the notice of those who saw the incident, health and police teams were dispatched to the area. Özcan Gizay, who was seriously injured, died in the hospital where he was taken by ambulance, despite all the interventions made by the doctors. The lifeless body of Gizay, who was learned to be married and the father of two children, was taken to the morgue of the Izmir Forensic Medicine Institute after the examination.
Police teams launched a large-scale operation to catch the suspect M.E., who quickly fled the area after the incident. After technical and physical follow-up, suspect M.E. was captured and taken into custody along with the cutting tool he used in the incident. It was learned that the suspect's procedures at the Public Order Branch Directorate's Homicide Bureau are continuing and that he will be referred to the courthouse after his statement at the police station.
