Muhittin Alağaş (40) and his 2 friends, who were going to a shopping mall in ADANA, stole approximately 600 kilograms of melons and watermelons from 2 parked trucks, loaded them into a light commercial vehicle and left the region. The suspect, who was detained after the incident recorded on the security camera, said in his statement, "We stole melons and watermelons because they were products that sold quickly." Alağaş was sent to prison, and 2 suspects are wanted.
The incident took place at around 02.30 on May 2, at Vedat Dalokay Market Complex in Yeşiloba District of Seyhan district. Muhittin Alağaş went to the market after driving around for a while with his 2 friends and his light commercial vehicle. Alağaş and his friends climbed into the parked truck loaded with watermelons and melons belonging to the tradesman Abdullah B. The suspects stole approximately 600 kilograms of watermelons and melons from the truck's bed, loaded them into their vehicles, and then left the area. Those moments were reflected on the security camera.
Upon the notice of Abdullah B., who noticed the theft when he went to his workplace the next day, the Public Security Branch Directorate's Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau teams took action. The teams examined the security camera footage in the region and on the route and determined that the vehicle whose license plate was determined belonged to Muhittin Alağaş. Alağaş, whose address was determined, was taken into custody during the police raid.
Muhittin Alağaş, who was taken to the police, said in his statement, "When we saw the melons and watermelons, we decided to steal them. We stole them because they were products that sold quickly. We sold the melons and watermelons to someone we did not know."
