Dilek Öz (53) and her daughter Ercin Öz (13), who were hit by a taxi while walking on the sidewalk in KONYA, were buried. It was stated that Dilek Öz worked as an assistant staff at the secondary school where her daughter was studying. It was announced that Ecrin's birthday is in 3 days.
The accident occurred yesterday around 12:00 on Fetih Street in the central Karatay district. The taxi with license plate 42 TT 154, driven by Hasan K. (30), hit Dilek and her daughter Ecrin Öz on the pavement and the parked car. Upon notice, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Paramedics determined that Dilek and Ecrin Öz died at the scene. The injured driver, Hasan K., was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The accident was recorded on a workplace security camera.
The bodies of Dilek Öz and her daughter Ecrin were handed over to their relatives today after the autopsy. Mother and daughter were buried after the funeral prayer performed at noon at Yağbasan Cemetery. It was stated that Dilek Öz worked as an assistant staff at Martyr Colonel İbrahim Karaoğlanoğlu Imam Hatip Secondary School, where her daughter Ecrin was educated. It was reported that Ecrin, whose birthday was 3 days later, attended the Support and Training Course (DYK) at her school to prepare for LGS, which she will enter next year.
On the other hand, it was stated that the injured driver, Hasan K., would be detained after his discharge and legal action would be initiated against him.
