The fire broke out at around 19.45 in the maintenance and repair workshop of Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Transportation and Public Transportation Services (MOTAŞ) located in Hoca Ahmet Yesevi District. Those who saw the flames reported it to the 112 Emergency Call Center, and fire brigade, health, AFAD and police teams were dispatched to the region. Firefighters intervened in the fire in a short time and with a 20-minute activity, the flames were taken under control and cooling activities were carried out.
Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Sami Er, who came to the region and inspected the fire extinguishing activities on site, stated that it was pleasing that there was no loss of life and said, "Unfortunately, a flame broke out around 19.45, the cause of which we do not know. Our fire crews intervened within 5 minutes. It took 20 minutes for the fire to go out. Thank God, we did not lose any lives, but 3 of our buses, a forklift vehicle and our repair and maintenance tools were burned. I am impressed by what they showed in this fire."
