In the activities carried out by the security units regarding the helicopter crash in which the Founding Chairman of the Great Unity Party (BBP), Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, and the 5 people with him lost their lives on March 25, 2009, striking findings and allegations were reached regarding the possible connection of FETO with the incident.
In the prepared information note; Attention was drawn to many issues, from warplanes in the incident area to FETO's Air Force structure, from ByLock messages to the extraordinary meetings of the members of the organization before and after the incident.
According to the activities of the security units, it was determined that three warplanes were present in the area where the helicopter crashed at the time of the incident. It was determined that two of these planes were F-16s taking off from Amasya 5th Main Jet Base, and the other was an F-4 taking off from Malatya Erhaç Military/Civil Airport.
Radar records show that the F-4 fighter jet disappeared from the radar for a certain period of time; It was evaluated that this situation could occur with turning off the radar, sudden altitude change or low flight. For this reason, it was emphasized that the warplanes may have caused the helicopter to be destroyed, consciously or unconsciously.
In the State Supervisory Board report, it was stated that low altitude flights of warplanes such as F-4 and F-16 could pose a danger to helicopters. The incident that occurred in Eskişehir in the 1990s, when a helicopter crashed due to the pressure created by an F-4 passing close to the helicopter, was also cited as an example.
It was determined that Ali Armağan, one of the pilots of the F-4 fighter jet, who was considered to be in the region at the time of the accident, came to Malatya on March 20, 2009, 5 days before the incident, in order to complete his flight time. It was reflected in the records that Armağan was later subjected to judicial proceedings due to his FETO/PDY affiliation and was in prison between 2018-2023.
In the investigations, it was determined that Armağan had been using operational lines in organizational activities since 2010 and had intense contact with Adil Öksüz, one of the secret imams of FETO's Air Force.
It was also reflected in the investigation file that the fingerprints of Ali Armağan's wife Şerife Armağan were found on a book written by the leader of the organization, Fetullah Gülen, which was seized during the searches at Adil Öksüz's house.
One of the most striking details in the file was the meetings held just before the accident with the members of FETO's Air Force secret structure. It was determined that Erol Sağlam, the Istanbul Hava Mahrem Imam of the period, passed from Istanbul to Diyarbakır and from there to Malatya on March 21, 2009.
It was determined that Sağlam met with the organization's Malatya Air Private Imam Ali Cingitaş in Malatya and returned to Istanbul on March 22. It was determined that the common contact of Erol Sağlam and Ali Cingitaş was Hava Mahrem Imam Cağfer Sarıkaya.
It was determined that Cağfer Sarıkaya, who was the joint contact, went to the USA from Istanbul on March 23, 2009, together with Harun Biniş and fugitive Adil Öksüz, who were captured at Akıncı Base during the July 15 coup attempt.
It is noteworthy that the trip in question took place only 2 days before the helicopter crash. It was determined that Malatya Hava Mahrem Imam Ali Cingitaş also went to Istanbul on March 30, 2009, 5 days after the accident.
According to the information obtained by the security units, it was determined that Malatya Air Private Imam Ali Cingitaş met with Kemal Batmaz, one of FETO's air private imams, with whom he had no previous contact, in Istanbul.
It was reported that Kemal Batmaz, who was determined to be one of the people who managed Akıncı Air Base during the July 15 coup attempt, met with Erol Sağlam and Ali Cingitaş in Istanbul. Although Cingitaş and Batmaz had no communication in the past years, their contact and face-to-face meetings immediately after the incident were found remarkable by the security units.
Within the scope of the investigation, ByLock correspondence, which was considered to be related to the incident, was also examined. Striking statements were included in the correspondence found to have taken place between Mehmet Durakoğlu, who was stated to be FETO's Elazığ Provincial Imam at the time of the incident, and Ömer Hakan Kısıkkaya, who was active at a responsible level in the civil administration and secret structure of the organization.
It was determined that the following expressions were used in the message:
"When the Yazıcıoğlu incident happened to me, I immediately went to Izmir. I met with Barbaros brother. He talked to our elder. The delegation gathered in Istanbul in the morning. I came to El Aziz at noon, we put an end to it. The matter was resolved as quickly as possible. When I went to America, our elder said that it was the most troublesome incident of the process."
The statements given by Abuzer Dilekçi, who said that he was previously involved in the FETO structure, by spontaneously applying to Adıyaman Anti-Terrorism Branch Directorate on 20 and 30 June 2021, were also included in the file.
Dilekçi, who was stated to be the assistant dormitory manager, explained that the person codenamed "Jhosef", who he claimed was one of Fetullah Gülen's special men, organized the Turkish Olympics, dealt with HSYK appointments and determined the country officials of the organization.
Dilekçi stated that the person in question said at a meeting that he rejected Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu's offer to side with FETO.
According to Dilekçi's statement, Fetullah Gülen was informed that Yazıcıoğlu refused to side with the organization. It was reflected in the statements that Gülen first ordered Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu's vulnerability to be investigated, but when no vulnerability was found, he said *"eliminate"*.
Dilekçi said that from these statements, he concluded that Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu's helicopter was shot down by FETO and that he was killed. The statements in question were reflected in the investigation file of the judicial authorities.
Judicial authorities state that the emerging warplane movements, the extraordinary contacts of FETO's air secret structure before and after the incident, Adil Öksüz and Kemal Batmaz connections, ByLock correspondence and statements from within the organization are of critical importance for the course of the investigation.
While the investigation authorities are thoroughly investigating the possible connections between the way the accident occurred and FETO's activities before and after the incident; It is stated that the statements of 29 suspects, 27 of whom are present and 2 of whom are detained, who were last detained within the scope of the investigation, are continuing.
