The events organized in Muş on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day were held with intense participation of citizens.

Speaking at the program organized in the City Square under the coordination of the Muş Governorship, which started after a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, Muş Governor Avni Çakır said, "In these sacred lands that we made our homeland with the blessed gate opened by Sultan Alparslan in Manzikert, our state tradition of more than a thousand years, our unshakable brotherhood rooted in the depths of our history and our march of civilization have survived despite many difficulties. This nation has only conquered lands throughout the ages." "It has become a great nation that builds hearts, not only establishes a state, but also rules with justice, and carries not only its own future but also the hope of the oppressed on its shoulders. That is why it has found the unshakable will of Malazgirt, the faith of Çanakkale, the determination of the National Struggle and the inexhaustible love of independence of this beloved nation against every attack against the unity of our nation, the survival of our state and the indivisible integrity of our homeland throughout history."

Stating that only the method of betrayal changed on July 15, 2016, Governor Çakır said, "The target was still the same. To enslave this nation in its own homeland, to tear apart our thousand-year-old brotherhood, to collapse our state from within. However, there was a truth they did not expect. This state was the name of a deep-rooted tradition standing with the accumulation of centuries. This nation was a great nation that had eliminated many betrayals and broken through many sieges throughout history."

At the event, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's speech was followed live on the giant screen. Citizens with Turkish flags in their hands created an image of unity and solidarity in the square.

While the athletes who were ranked in the Sancak Race organized within the scope of the event were given their awards, the Turkish Red Crescent offered refreshments to the citizens in the area. The program included poetry readings and Quran recitation. The program ended with the sela recited in all mosques in the city at 00.13 at night.
