The search activities launched to find 27-year-old Erkan Sak, who got lost in the current while fishing in Şırnak, continues on the 7th day.
Erkan Sak (27), who entered the water to fish in Taşarası village of Beytüşşebap district on July 9, lost his balance and was swept away by the current. Upon notice, the teams were dispatched to the region and launched a large-scale search operation to find the missing young man. In the activities in which AFAD, UMKE, gendarmerie, police and fire brigade diver teams and many volunteer citizens participate, the kilometers-long section of the Habur Stream is being dredged. While the teams search the surface of the water with rafting boats, divers also carry out meticulous activities underwater. Within the scope of search activities, with the special permission received from the 23rd Infantry Division Command, scanning activities are carried out with drones on the Habur Stream route, approximately 21 kilometers beyond the Türkiye-Iraq border.
