An operation was launched against suspects determined to be trafficking drugs via Telegram in Istanbul. During simultaneous operations, 110 people were taken into custody. Access was also blocked to 65 Telegram groups and channels identified during the investigations.
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Narcotics Crimes Branch Directorate, under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and with the support of the Anti-Narcotics Department, launched an operation against suspects believed to be committing the crime of 'manufacturing and trafficking narcotic or stimulant substances' via Telegram. Investigations conducted through an analysis application named AVCI revealed that the suspects had made numerous posts related to drug trafficking.
As part of the efforts, simultaneous operations were carried out at numerous addresses in the morning. During the operation, 110 suspects were taken into custody. During searches conducted at the suspects' addresses, various quantities of narcotic substances were seized. 65 Telegram groups and channels identified within the scope of the operation were simultaneously blocked from access.
