The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) announced that the number of companies established in the first 6 months of 2026 increased by 9.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

TOBB announced statistics on established and closed companies for the first half of 2026. Accordingly, in the first 6 months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, the number of established companies increased by 9.3 percent, the number of established cooperatives decreased by 17.6 percent, and the number of established sole proprietorships increased by 7.2 percent. In the first 6 months of 2026, compared to the first 6 months of 2025, the number of closed companies decreased by 1.4 percent.

NUMBER OF ESTABLISHED COOPERATIVES INCREASED BY 51.1 PERCENT YEARLY

In June 2026, compared to the same month of the previous year, the number of established companies increased by 31.5 percent, and the number of established cooperatives increased by 51.1 percent. While the number of established sole proprietorships increased by 45.1 percent, it was determined that the number of closed companies in June 2026 increased by 28.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. While the number of closed cooperatives increased by 7.2 percent compared to the previous year, the number of closed sole proprietorships decreased by 10.5 percent. There was a 41.3 percent increase in the number of established sole proprietorships compared to the previous month.
