A commemoration program was organized in Almus and Yeşilyurt districts of Tokat on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
In the program organized by the Almus Mufti's Office at the Central Mosque, the Holy Quran and Mevlid-i Şerif were read.
The program, held following the noon prayer, ended with prayers for the martyrs and veterans of July 15.
Later, Almus District Governor Uğur Kızılboğa, Mayor Bekir Özer, District Gendarmerie Commander First Lieutenant Sami Aksoy, Çevreli Mayor Sadi Ertan Soysal and the district protocol visited the graves of Martyr Rıza Koşar in Gevrek District of Kınık town, Martyrs Osman Karaca and Abdullah Eymur in Çevreli town, and Martyr Yasin Karaca in Ormandibi village.
Later, a program was held in the town square.
Following the noon prayer, a Mawlid was read for all the martyrs at the Central Mosque and lokma was offered to the congregation.
A National Unity March was held with the participation of protocol members and citizens, starting from Atatürk Boulevard, via Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Boulevard, to the front of the Government House, accompanied by the Mehter band.
The program, which continued in front of the Government House, continued with the recitation of the Holy Quran by the religious officials of Yeşilyurt Mufti's Office. In the program, preacher Ozan Arıkan prayed for July 15 and all the martyrs.
At the event, where speeches about the meaning and importance of the day were made by District Governor Yeşim Altın and Mayor Muhsin Yılmaz, the janissary band organized a show.
The program ended after poems were read by the students and a movie on the subject of July 15 was shown.
Turkmen pilaf was served to the participants of the program.
District Governor Yeşim Altın, Mayor Muhsin Yılmaz, Kuşcu Mayor Hikmet Temizel, District Police Chief Fatih Yaşar and citizens attended the program.
