Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Çankaya Municipality, 24 suspects, including Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner, were arrested, and 6 suspects were released on condition of judicial control.
Hüseyin Can Güner, who was arrested, was suspended from his duty as mayor. In the statement made by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was stated that Güner was suspended from duty as a temporary measure due to the investigation carried out against him and his arrest.

Upon his arrest, with the decision of Ankara 4th Criminal Court of Peace dated 15.07.2026 and query number 2026/458, within the scope of the investigation carried out against him for the crimes of "Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing a Crime, Accepting Bribes, Rigging the Tender of Public Institutions and Organizations",
He was suspended from office by the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a temporary measure in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipality Law No. 5393.
