In the operation carried out on a bus carrying unlicensed weapons to be shipped to criminal organizations in the Tuzla district of Istanbul, 120 weapons were seized. While it was not disclosed which gang the shipment was made to, 4 suspects linked to the weapons were sent to prison.
According to the information obtained, under the coordination of the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Organized Crime Branch Directorate teams continue their operations against the criminal organizations operating in the city and the gun smugglers who market weapons to them.
As part of an investigation, police teams launched an operation against a passenger bus that was found to be carrying unlicensed weapons to be shipped to criminal organizations.
On July 8, the bus determined at the application point on the TEM Highway in Tuzla district was stopped by police teams. During the searches and checks carried out in the vehicle, 120 unlicensed guns and 120 magazines for these guns were seized in a specially built secret compartment behind the spare fuel tank.
Within the scope of the operation, 4 suspects were caught and taken into custody, and the bus used for arms shipment was seized.
The suspects were sent to prison by the judicial authorities to whom they were referred after their procedures at the Istanbul Organized Crime Branch Directorate. - ISTANBUL
