Road construction and renovation activities in Kars continue uninterruptedly to make urban transportation safer and more comfortable. Kars Governor Ziya Polat examined the ongoing activities on Cumhuriyet Street, which is under the responsibility of the 18th Regional Directorate of Highways, and received comprehensive information about the latest situation from the authorities.
Officials from the relevant institutions also participated in the inspection carried out on Cumhuriyet Street, one of the most frequently used routes in the city. Governor Polat, who toured the area where the works were carried out step by step, examined the road under construction by getting information from Highways 18th Regional Director Hakan Yenilmez about the stage of infrastructure and superstructure activities, asphalt paving program, pavement arrangements and plans to ease traffic flow.
Governor Ziya Polat pointed out that transportation investments, which directly affect the daily lives of citizens, are of great importance and asked for the necessary sensitivity to be shown to complete the activities in line with the planned schedule and at high quality standards. Stating that traffic regulations should be carried out meticulously so that citizens experience the least amount of victimization during the works, Polat thanked the teams for their devoted activities.
Within the scope of the activities carried out by the 18th Regional Directorate of Highways, it is aimed to give Cumhuriyet Street a modern appearance, increase driving comfort and increase road safety to the highest level. The aim of the project is to renew damaged road pavements, make necessary infrastructure improvements and create a durable road standard that will serve for many years.
After the completion of the activities that will strengthen the transportation infrastructure in the city center, it is expected that vehicle traffic will become more fluid and citizens will have safer and more comfortable transportation.
After his inspections, Governor Ziya Polat instructed the contractor company and Highways officials to maintain the necessary coordination to complete the activities within the specified period, and stated that the investments that will strengthen the transportation infrastructure of Kars will continue to be closely monitored.
