The legal struggle initiated by 20 citizens who could not receive the payment for their expropriated lands in Antalya's Manavgat district for years ended in seizure. The creditor's lawyer, who took action after the court decision, seized 3 official vehicles used by senior managers of Manavgat Municipality and towed them to the trustee's parking lot, in an operation carried out at midnight.
20 citizens, whose properties were expropriated by Manavgat Municipality to build a parking lot but could not receive their payments, applied to the judiciary to assert their rights. After the case filed in the Manavgat 3rd Civil Court of First Instance was concluded in favor of the citizens, enforcement proceedings were initiated after the municipality did not pay its debt. After the amount of receivables reached approximately 60 million liras, Emre Erdoğan, the lawyer of the rights holders, carried out the seizure process in Manavgat Municipality together with the police forces.
In the seizure process carried out at midnight, 3 luxury vehicles worth a total of 7 million liras, used as official vehicles by senior managers of Manavgat Municipality, were loaded onto tow trucks under the supervision of Manavgat Police Department Traffic Inspection Bureau teams and taken to the trustee's parking lot. It was learned that another official vehicle seized in the Side Service Building could not be removed from the parking lot at that moment because it was locked in the closed parking lot.
Lawyer Emre Erdoğan, who managed the process, said in his statement after the seizure: "About 20 of my clients' properties were expropriated by Manavgat Municipality to be used as a parking lot. However, the municipality has not paid these fees so far. The case we filed on behalf of my clients has been resolved. We are carrying out this seizure in accordance with the court decision. What we will receive is approximately 60 million liras. Currently, 3 official vehicles with an estimated value of 7 million liras have been taken to the trustee, and the parking lot in the closed parking lot has been taken to the trustee."
